how to get here
For guests visiting from outside Kenya, travel to Kusini involves a flight to the capital Nairobi, to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). Flights to and from Jomo Kenyatta International operate daily. Please check your preffered airline for schedules.
From Nairobi, a domestic flight of roughly 1hr 40 minutes – 2hrs, depending on the airline and route, to Lamu (LAU) is required. Again, these are operated via multiple airlines, daily, and with 2 options for departure, Jomo Kenyatta International and Wilson airport (WIL).
Once at Lamu airport, our boat captain will take you on the 25 minute boat ride to Kusini. The journey takes you along stretches of lush mangroves and flat sea water, hugging the main land until you can no longer see civilisation and multiple small uninhabited islands appear.
Once you reach our stretch of coast line, the sand opens up to reveal a few houses, peacefully sharing this remote tip of the Island. Walking the short distance up the sand to Kusini, one has a sense that complete and utter disconnect is possible, should you choose it!
