Kusini meaning ‘winds from the south’ in Swahili, is designed to reflect its surroundings, allowing nature to encompass the space from the outside, whilst framing the view from the inside. This open design gives the elements a free-flow in and out of the space, further encouraging a sense of immersion in nature.

Kusini offers 5 luxurious bedrooms, 2 beachside bandas, communal dining areas with ocean views, a freshwater pool and multiple lounging spaces. Whether you’re a sun worshipper, a shade seeker, in a couple or flying solo, there’s a corner in our abode to match your needs.

Each bedroom features a private veranda and en suite, and are fitted with ceiling fans. Guests benefit from a daily room service, together with a complimentary laundry option.

SUPER DELUXE KING WITH VERANDA

JUA (sun)

As its name suggests, this room honours the sun’s daily cycle. Capturing light from morning through to sunset, viewed from your very own private floor. Guests in Jua can enjoy a luxurious king-sized bed and two en suites, both with walk-in wardrobes; one featuring a unique indoor // outdoor bath. Many hours can be whittled away retreating from the midday sun on your luxurious secluded veranda.

DELUXE DOUBLE FOUR POSTER BED

Featuring a gorgeous locally carved four poster double bed, and local Lamu furniture, Hewa has a truly homely feel. With a writing desk, additional seating and en-suite with beautiful Lamu-style bath, Hewa is a wonderful retreat for anyone seeking some home comforts. Hewa features a private veranda looking onto the freshwater pool.

DELUXE DOUBLE WITH LARGE VERANDA

MAJI (water)

With two private verandas, Maji features ample outdoor lounging and cool shading from the sun. In close proximity to the freshwater pool and with view of the frangipanis, Maji offers a tranquil stay. Guests here benefit from a king sized bed and en suite.

DELUXE DOUBLE WITH SEAFRONT VERANDA

NYOTA and SAYARI (star and planet)

Situated either side of the entrance to the house, with direct access to the beach, these two rooms offer ocean views and private verandas within a short walk to the water! Both rooms feature a double bed and en suite, and are ideal for couples, friends happy to share a bed, or solo travellers keen for some peaceful alone time. Reading, writing, painting are all perfect activities to undertake from these verandas with the opportunity to witness some local boat life.

BEACH BANDAS WITH TWIN BEDS

WIMBI and MWEZI (tide and moon)

Within yards of the main house, sit Wimbi and Mwezi, our ideally situated beachside bandas. With their makuti roofs and Lamu-style swinging beds in the front, guests can enjoy a truly authentic coastal experience. Each featuring two single beds with en suite, Wimbi and Mwezi are perfect for 2 friends sharing or for children. Fall asleep under the light of the moon and wake to the calm changing of the tides.
